DURBAN - Police have dispersed Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members protesting outside the uMhlathuze local municipal offices in Richard’s Bay, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
This happened as party members forcefully entered the municipal building where a council meeting was scheduled for Thursday.
The party wants three of its councillors removed and their seats declared vacant.
The party said the councillors were recalled in 2023 but refused to comply with the party’s instruction.
EFF party supporters charged towards the uMhlathuze local municipal offices, singing and chanting as they forced entry into the municipal building.
A window and a glass door were broken during the chaos.
