KZN EFF members set to picket to demand removal of 3 councillors
These councillors are part of a group that failed to secure buses for members to attend the party’s 10-year anniversary at FNB stadium in 2023.
DURBAN - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in KwaZulu-Natal will on Wednesday picket outside the uMhlathuze Local Municipality offices in Richard's Bay, demanding the removal of three EFF councillors.
These councillors are part of a group that failed to secure buses for members to attend the party’s 10th anniversary at FNB stadium in 2023.
It was the party’s instruction that councillors who failed to transport their constituencies to the celebration event resign from the party.
However, the three councillors have since not adhered to the directive.

A year ago, the EFF recalled 210 councillors who did not transport party supporters to its 10th anniversary celebration.
A significant number of those who had to resign were from KZN.
However, the party says three councillors from uMhlathuze Local Municipality did not resign.
Eyewitness News understands the trio approached the courts on the matter instead.
However, the red berets now plan to disrupt a planned council sitting to have the trio resign.
