CAPE TOWN - Four policemen accused of stealing R20 million worth of jewellery from a house in Llandudno, Cape Town, will probably know on Thursday whether they'll be released on bail or not.
Jacobus Groenewald, Bradley Minnaar, Mthuthuzeli Mafanya and Bathandwa Soldati are expected back at the Wynberg Magistrates Court.
The court is expected to hear final arguments from their lawyers and for possible bail judgment.
Groenewald, Minnaar, Mafanya and Soldati are accused of pulling off the daring jewellery heist at the upmarket suburb of Llandudno clad in police uniforms.
However, the officers, who were part of the South African Police Service (SAPS)'s Operation Restore, have denied stealing any jewellery from the house.
Instead, they claim to have received a tip-off about two Nigerian criminals wanted by Interpol, hiding at the Llandudno house.
According to their versions heard in court, the policemen said when they got to the house some of the people inside absconded, and they couldn't identify the wanted criminals.
They then searched the house and found empty boxes of expensive watches.
