Woman arrested at OR Tambo International Airport for fraud

CAPE TOWN - Border police have arrested a woman at OR Tambo International Airport for fraud involving the cloning of cards.
The 34-year-old suspect was nabbed on Tuesday upon her return on a Qatar flight.
Between 2017 and 2018, the suspect was allegedly involved in compromising clients' card information while employed at a car rental service at Cape Town International Airport.
A preliminary investigation found that the suspect allegedly gave clients' banking information to a syndicate that manufactured cloned cards.
"The clients suffered financial loss to an amount of R400,000. The suspect will appear in transit in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on the 22nd of January and then will be transferred to appear in Cape Town," said Hawks spokesperson, Zinzi Hani.
