Eugene Botha handed three life terms for killing his parents & sister

JOHANNESBURG - Eugene Botha has been sentenced to three life terms for murdering both his parents and sister.
On the first of January 2024, Eugene killed his mother, Marrie, his sister, Soné and father, Johannes, by repeatedly hitting them on the head with a hammer.
The murders took place at the family's Rondebult home in Germiston.

Botha appeared at the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday for sentencing.
Judge Gcina Malindi said he was unconvinced that Eugene had remorse for his actions.
"The accused has not demonstrated that he is a good candidate for rehabilitation because he has no remorse for what he did. As stated above, his resentfulness towards the deceased and his surviving brother persists."
