CAPE TOWN - Incoming US president Donald Trump says he will not waste any time in signing a raft of executive orders following his inauguration in Washington on Monday.
Many will involve repealing orders of his predecessor, Joe Biden, as well as reforms on immigration and border security, pardoning 2021 US Capitol rioters and releasing classified documents on high-profile assassinations including former president John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King.
The 45th president of the US is making an extraordinary comeback as the 47th president.
He is the second person in the country’s history to return for a non-consecutive second term.
In return for their support, Trump told a rally in Washington on Sunday that he would be making good on his word to voters as soon as he’s sworn into office.
For the first time since President Ronald Reagan's inauguration in 1985, Trump's second inauguration will take place in the Rotunda - inside the US Capitol building - owing to freezing temperatures.

Trump has told his supporters they can expect him to sign as many as 100 executive orders on his first day.
"By the time the sun sets tomorrow evening, the invasion of our borders will come to a halt and all the illegal border transgressors will in some form or the other be on their way back home."
As in his first term, Trump is again vowing to get tough on illegal immigrants by rescinding Biden’s policies.
"We will expel every single illegal alien, gang member and migrant operating on American soil," Trump said.
It's expected several of Trump's new orders will spark immediate legal challenges.
