The Zulu king now says the wedding is off.
King Misuzulu has called off the much-anticipated Zulu royal wedding set to take place next week.
Earlier in January, the monarch announced that he would be tying the knot with his third partner.
But in a letter written to the KwaZulu-Natal government’s director general, Dr Nonhlanhla Mkhize, his majesty called off the wedding, citing reasons beyond the control of the royal house.
The king also requested that Myeni’s benefits, including the security detail assigned to her, be withdrawn.
The said wedding was also being challenged through the courts by the king’s first wife.
The matter is expected to be heard in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Sunday.
