CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Community Safety MEC Anroux Marais is appealing to the public for information following the killing of a Makhaza neighbourhood watch member in Khayelitsha.
Marais said the community safety officer was shot during a patrol at the Nkanini informal settlement on Friday night.
The MEC has described the murder as shocking, emphasising the need for community support in addressing such violence.
"This is a tragedy. He was trying to make Makhaza a safer place when he was killed. I urge any members of the public who may be able to assist the South African Police Service in the investigation into this attack."
