CAPE TOWN - The two suspects linked to the murder of controversial Cape Town businessman Mark Lifman are expected to apply to be released on bail.
Johannes Hendrik Jacobs and Gert Johannes Bezuidenhout were arrested in November shortly after the alleged underworld boss was shot and killed at the Garden Route Mall.
They previously appeared at the George Magistrates Court twice in 2024.
The alleged gunmen's bail applications have been set down for two days.
At the pair's last appearance before Christmas, the court heard that they'd been moved to an unnamed prison for safety reasons.
Their lawyer argued that this made consulting with them difficult.
Alleged underworld gang boss Jerome "Donkie" Booysen was among Lifman's friends present in court for Jacobs and Bezuidenhout’s last appearance.
