JOHANNESBURG - High Court secretary, Andiswa Mengo has testified that Eastern Cape Judge President, Selby Mbenenge sent her explicit videos depicting a couple engaged in explicit sexual activity.

The alleged incident took place in 2021 when Mbenenge allegedly began making sexual advances towards his junior. 

Mengo made the submissions before the judicial tribunal in Rosebank, Johannesburg, tasked with investigating the allegations against the top judge.

The jurist, however, denies sending the explicit content.

Evidence leader, advocate Salome Scheepers has been scanning through the WhatsApp exchanges between the pair and asked Mengo about a video she received from the judge. 

"That evening at 22:25, the respondent sent you a video, 30 seconds long according to what is depicted here. Can you recall what that video was about?" Scheepers asked. 

Helped by a translator, Mengo described the video.

"I think this is the video that depicted a man and a woman. They were on the bed."
