Western Cape Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile said that four security guards were under police guard in hospital.

Patekile has commended the police for their swift reaction.

"Under the circumstances there, and if you count about 120 cartridges that were on the scene, we prevented what could have been a disaster at the time. I can’t imagine the end results of that had we not been there that time and pounce on them."
