JOHANNESBURG - Human rights group, Africa4Palestine has welcomed a temporary ceasefire deal between Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas and the Israeli government.
The organisation has described the agreement as a "pause of the genocide" in Gaza, rather than a resolution to the crisis.
Africa4Palestine said the deal preserves lives but does not erase the crimes committed during the conflict.
The organisation has accused Israel of genocide and targeting civilians, including women, children, and humanitarian workers.

The Israeli army has been accused of carrying out a genocide in Gaza, where it has killed more than 46,000 Palestinians with over 110,000 others injured.
The war was ignited after Hamas attacked southern Israel in October 2023, killing at least 1,200 people and taking 251 others hostage.
Despite welcoming the deal, the organisation has criticised the United States for vetoing ceasefire resolutions at the UN Security Council.
It also rejected claims that the ceasefire was a diplomatic success for the US, calling instead for lasting peace and justice.
