On Wednesday 15 January, children across South Africa officially went back to school.
The start of a school year is always an expensive time for parents who must ensure their children start the year with everything they need.

One parent shared the compulsory stationary list she received from her child’s school on X, and it is a lot.
On top of the expected items like files, textbooks and pencils, each parent is also expected to supply dishwashing liquid, bleach, and an entire box of A4 printer paper.
