LISTEN: Stationery lists have parents STRESSED - 'Biggest shock in my life!'

The Drive With Thando team catches up with parents ahead of the first day of school.

Listen below.

Stationery, uniforms, and school fees can all accumulate quickly, especially in Janu-worry.

Listeners share their back-to-school woes:

“I have three children; they go to three different schools… I think I paid close to R800 per child for stationery.”
– Listener
"This is the biggest shock I’ve had in my life. I had to pay R675 for a scientific calculator… local suppliers don’t keep them so we [parents] had to order.”
– Listener
“I have seen some bizarre stationery lists lately on TikTok and whatnot… Basmati rice? Frozen chicken from Pick n Pay?... It’s ridiculous… It’s not justified.”
