SAWS issues yellow level 4 warning for disruptive rains in Tshwane

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane's emergency services has issued a high alert warning to residents, urging them to remain vigilant as a yellow level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall has been issued by the South African Weather Service.
The inclement weather is expected to produce heavy rainfall, leading to localised flooding in low-lying areas, disruptions to traffic, and danger to life due to fast-flowing streams and rivers.

The city's EMS said it would continue to monitor weather reports, and remained on high alert for any related emergencies.
Tshwane EMS spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni urged residents to exercise extreme caution.
"The City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department is calling on communities to remain alert following a yellow level 4 warning issued for disruptive rain by the South African Weather Service. If possible, stay indoors and away from metal objects which may be hit by lightning, do not seek shelter under trees, and avoid crossing flooded low-lying roads."
