SA's independent schools achieve 98.47% matric pass rate - IEB
This is the highest recorded IEB pass rate in the past five years.

JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) has achieved an overall pass rate of 98.47%
The announcement was made on Monday afternoon, with the 2024 pass rate showing a slight increase from last year's 98.46%.
This is the highest recorded IEB pass rate in the past five years.
89.37 percent of the learners from independent schools in the country achieved a university entrance pass.
Earlier on Monday the chairperson of Umalusi's council, Professor Yunus Ballim, confirmed the quality assurance body approved the results of exams administered by the IEB.
"There were no systemic irregularities reported that might have compromised the overall credibility and integrity of the November 2024 National Senior Certificate examinations administered by the IEB."
On Monday evening, Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube will announce the matric results for public schools.
