CAPE TOWN - The first woman of colour to win the Diners Club Winemaker of the Year award inspires the youth to unlock their potential and redefine what leadership looks like.
Showcasing South Africa’s winemaking legacy, Kiara Scott Farmer, who hails from Mitchells Plain, was titled the 2024 Diners Club Winemaker of the Year.
The Diners Club created the Winemaker of the Year award to inspire local winemakers to raise the bar for South African wines.
Scott-Farmer said that her heritage sparked the creativity to create wines that reflected authenticity and innovation.
"I think my story helps demonstrate the power of diversity. Through my work and the platforms I’ve been given, I hope to show that South African winemaking is not only about exceptional quality but also about the people behind the bottles — their stories, heritage, and commitment."
