RANDBURG - Following the announcement of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) results, the Department of Basic Education is set to release the 2024 National Senior Certificate results on Monday evening.

Minister Siviwe Gwarube's address will focus on provincial performance and touch on educational districts and inmates who also wrote exams.

Nearly one million candidates, including full-time and part-time learners, sat for the 2024 examinations.

Monday evening's announcement will be hosted in Fairlands, Johannesburg.

Gwarube kicked off the day with a breakfast celebration for the top-performing 2024 matrics.

Taking over from former minister, Angie Motshekga, Gwarube will reveal how schools across the country performed in the 2024 examinations.

While the announcement is no doubt a nerve-wracking moment for many, Tuesday brings the reality of seeing results printed in newspapers.

For South Africa's matriculants, this milestone marks the start of a new chapter as they transition to further their studies or the working world.
