JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Education Department has set aside R207 million for mobile units at satellite schools.
The department said that the funds will assist in establishing mobile units at satellite schools across the province to accommodate pupils for the 2025 academic year.
Education activist, Hendrick Makaneta commended the department's efforts to ensure pupils have access to quality education.
"The investment by Gauteng Education will certainly go a long way in reducing the number of unplaced learners in the province. We congratulate Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane and his team at the GDE for their visionary leadership and proactive measures to address the challenges facing education in the province."
