CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape is challenging two professors who've compiled a report slamming water quality at Cape Town's beaches to bring proof of their allegations.

The report, dubbed Project Blue, has also found that two of the city's Blue Flag beaches - Camps Bay and Clifton - had alarming levels of Enterococci.
The DA in the province wants the researchers to publicise their testing samples and methodology to ensure accurate and constructive dialogue.
"Cape Town’s coastal water quality remains among the best in the country, thanks to the city’s diligent efforts to monitor and maintain our beaches,” said the party's Dave Bryant.
“We challenge Project Blue to release their full testing methodologies and other relevant data and to collaborate with the city to ensure our beaches remain safe and enjoyable for all."
