These Johannesburg roads are likely to flood during heavy rainfall
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department has identified roads that are prone to flooding.

As the City of Johannesburg continues to experience heavy rainfall, the Johannesburg Metro Police Department calls on motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
Reduce your speed, maintain a safe following distance, and turn on your headlights for improved visibility.
JMPD has identified the following roads that are prone to flooding:
- Roads near the Jukskei and Hennops rivers
- N1 at Maraisburg
- M1 North double-decker in the Johannesburg CBD
- N3 at Linksfield Roads
- Leeuwkop Road in Sunninghill
- Witkoppen Road in Paulshof
- Pretoria Main Road
- Olifantsfontein Road
- Allandale Road in Midrand
- Roosevelt Road in Alexandra
- Belgrave Bridge in Bryanston
- Klipspruit Valley Road in Orlando West
- Moroka Nancefield Road in Mofolo South
- Mzilikazi Street in Mofolo Central
“Motorists should avoid extremely flooded roads and low-lying bridges, as vehicles may be at risk of being swept away or trapped,” says JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla.
