Orange Farm is one of the badly affected areas, with residents saying the downpours have left many stranded, their homes damaged and livelihoods disrupted.
The rain, which started on Sunday last week, showed no signs of easing, and residents said the streets of Orange Farm have been covered with water.
Residents have told Eyewitness News they woke up to find their homes, furniture, and belongings ruined, and essential services disrupted.
The flooding has also raised concerns about the safety and health of residents.
While a low chance of rain is expected on Thursday, the SAWS has forecast more rainfall over the weekend.
