CAPE TOWN - The group, Cape Town Grand Prix South Africa, says it won't rest until Formula One racing returns to the country.
The CTGPSA will submit an official bid to the bid steering committee set up by Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie.
The CTGPSA is proposing a street circuit around the Green Point Sport Tourism Precinct, near the DHL Stadium.
CEO of the organisation, Igshaan Amlay, said that their presentation would happen after January.
"Cape Town Grand Prix SA would be presenting to the bid steering committee, which was established by the minister of sports, so that process will be taking place possibly in February or a bit later, shortly after February, depending on the amount of bidders that would also like to bid for the Formula One for South Africa."
Amlay said that hosting a Formula One event would positively impact the socio-economic state of the country.
"Hosting a Formula One [race], being a mega event, I think that would have a positive impact, not only on our economy but as a city on the whole, as you might have witnessed the Formula E that took place, it actually put Cape Town on the map, so I think Formula One, which has billions of viewers who follow them religiously and the support is actually growing with the younger generation who are following motorsport."
