JOHANNESBURG - Disgruntled residents living in a block of flats on Fox Street in Johannesburg's CBD are demanding that city officials restore power to their homes.
The block of flats has been without power for weeks.
They said that while numerous complaints had been lodged with City Power, there had been no change to their situation.
Speaking to Eyewitness News, a tenant said they could not understand why some parts of the street had electricity while others did not.
Entering one of the blocks of flats that have been without power for days, one is greeted by a horrible smell that can only be attributed to rotten food and clogged restrooms.
This building has been without electricity since before Christmas last year.
And since the pumps that supply water to the building need electricity to run, subsequently residents have been without running water as well.
The building manager said that numerous complaints had been lodged with City Power, but the situation hasn't been fixed.
