CAPE TOWN - The Cape of Good Hope’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is calling for continued support of animal welfare in 2025 after a successful 2024.

In 2024, the organisation fought animal cruelty through numerous projects in Cape Town.

SPCA spokesperson Belinda Abraham said they tracked growth in several projects.

"Almost 20,000 animals received primary veteran care via our mobile clinic services and our on-site hospital. That's, of course, an indication that our message of kindness, our call to prevent suffering via preventative veterinary treatments is being heard."

Abraham added that the solidarity against animal cruelty should continue.

"These achievements, of course, are not the SPCA's. They belong to every donor and every supporter, and every adopter who has fought alongside us for a kinder world for animals."
