Mbalula confirms 'political Casanova' Yengeni to be charged by ANC for ill-discipline
This follows a series of statements and disparaging social media posts, most recently one questioning the ANC's choice of venue for this year's January 8th statement, commemorating the party's 113th-anniversary in Cape Town.

CAPE TOWN - Former African National Congress (ANC) national executive member and parliamentarian, Tony Yengeni, can expect to be charged by the ANC for ill-discipline.
Labelling him a 'political Casanova', ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula said that he'd already informed Yengeni of the decision.

Visiting the Mandela Park sports facility in Khayelitsha on Monday, Mbalula defended the venue as being the most apt, given the area was a party stronghold in the province and where it lost support in last year's elections.
Mbalula says the party has nothing to prove by filling up stadiums for this event. He says this sports field can hold 22 000 people, and it will be filled to capacity. LD pic.twitter.com/P5Yim4Z879

He's taken a dim view of an X post by Yengeni depicting an uncovered stadium seating area and questioning its capacity.
"He will be charged. I've informed him through an SMS. I called him. We will charge. We will bring him before the disciplinary processes of the ANC so that he can explain himself in terms of his membership of the ANC."
Also falling foul of the ANC's disciplinary code is former minister, Obed Bapela, after a controversial visit to Morocco last year.
"Tony Yengeni, Obed Bapela, will be charged this year by the ANC disciplinary hearing."
Mbalula has also issued a warning to others he has not named, saying they too can expect to face consequences this year for bringing the party into disrepute.
