Mashatile: Ramaphosa to use Jan 8 statement to outline govt's plan to tackle challenges faced by citizens
ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa, is expected to address thousands of ANC supporters at the party's 113th birthday rally in Khayelitsha, Cape Town on Saturday.
CAPE TOWN - African National Congress (ANC) president, Cyril Ramaphosa, is set use the January 8 statement to outline government's plans to tackle challenges faced by South Africans.
Ramaphosa is expected to address thousands of ANC supporters at the party's 113th birthday rally in Khayelitsha, Cape Town on Saturday.
Several senior ANC officials are crisscrossing the Western Cape this week, mobilising communities ahead of the party's birthday celebrations.
During a visit to Mfuleni township on Monday, party deputy president, Paul Mashatile, told EWN that people have been complaining about unemployment and lack of housing.
"You can see many people live in shacks, so as we go around, we also pick up those challenges and we have to deal with them. The president, on Saturday, will be addressing many of these challenges to say what is it that we are going to do as government this year, working with our communities to deal with these challenges."
