JOHANNESBURG - The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) is expecting about 2,000 vehicles per hour on the highway on Sunday, heading in a northbound direction towards Gauteng as holidaymakers return home.
The N3TC’s COO, Thania Dhoogra, has warned motorists to be particularly careful because of disruptive rainstorms that are expected later on Sunday.
This followed the South African Weather Service (SAWS)'s issue of an orange level five warning for possible flooding.
"These difficult driving conditions will likely be escalated by adverse weather conditions, which have been predicted by the South African Weather Service and are expected this [Sunday] afternoon.
"Road users are reminded to please plan ahead and be prepared for the expected traffic and weather conditions."
