JOHANNESBURG - A dedicated crime-fighting warden, is how slain Chesnay Keppler is being described at her memorial service underway in Eldorado Park on Thursday after she was murdered.

Twenty-two-year-old Keppler was shot and killed on Boxing Day by her partner, who is a member of the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Men and women in green uniforms representing the Gauteng traffic and crime wardens dominated the hall, where the memorial service for one of their own was held.

Keppler was allegedly shot and killed by her partner, Mandla Buthelezi, an Eldorado Park SAPS member.

Her supervisor, Brian Ndlovu, described her as someone who was dedicated in fighting crime.

He said that she wanted to go to train as a traffic warden, which has the power to arrest.

"She was so dedicated in fighting crimes, so don't provoke those who are left. communities must work with these wardens, they are not your enemies. When you see a warden, you must see someone who wants to make Eldorado Park a crime-free area."

He said that he would make sure the family gets the justice it deserves.
