JOHANNESBURG - More than 300 babies that have been delivered in Gauteng will start a new generation this year.

The little bundles will be considered as Gen Beta children.

The Gauteng department of health advises mothers to breastfeed their little ones to ensure they get all the nutrients that they need to grow.

Provincial health spokesperson, Motalatale Modiba: "We also, where possible, encourage mothers to exclusively breastfeed, especially in the first six months to a year of a child's life. It is quite critical because they get nutrients from the mother's milk that helps them to develop properly."
