JOHANNESBURG - The community of Westbury is demanding answers following the death of a pregnant mother and her baby at a local clinic.
On Sunday, 32-year-old Miriam Singh was admitted to the Westbury clinic to have her baby, but they both didn’t make it out alive.
Her boyfriend, Chris Goliath, said when he returned to the clinic after getting her some food, he was told she and the baby had died.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths are still unknown, but Gauteng police have confirmed they are investigating the matter.

Westbury residents plan to stage a protest outside the local clinic on Tuesday morning.
Singh’s family are angry and said she was healthy when she left home on Sunday.
They were looking forward to her returning with a newborn baby.
When she asked for something to eat, Goliath left the clinic briefly only to return to the shocking news of the death of his girlfriend and child.
He said the clinic refused to disclose the cause of death.
Community leader Melissa Davids said they will stand in solidarity with the family until they get answers.
“Come one, come all, enough is enough. We need answers, and we need justice because this 32-year-old has four other kids who now have to grow up without a mother, so we need answers.”
The Gauteng Department of Health said it's aware of the matter and confirmed investigating the incident.
