JOHANNESBURG - Political parties are continuing to reflect on 2024, with the African National Congress (ANC) describing the year as challenging and turbulent.
The organisation experienced a significant electoral decline at this year's national and provincial elections, losing its majority in Parliament and in three provinces.
Delivering the ANC’s year-end remarks, Secretary General Fikile Mbalula expressed hopes that 2025 will be prosperous for all South Africans.
“I want to take a moment to extend warm wishes to you and your loved ones. This has been a year of challenges, triumphs and unity. And through it all, you have stood firm and embodied the spirit of resilience and ubuntu that defines our great nations.”
As Wednesday marks the final day of 2024, Mbalula said citizens should also celebrate their achievements.
“The festive season is a time to reflect, recharge and celebrate the bonds that bring us together as a people. Let’s use this time to rest, reconnect and renew our commitment to building a brighter future for all.”
