DURBAN - Two people have died in a major crash on the N2 highway in Durban, just near the Spaghetti Junction.

This was due to an overloaded minibus taxi with 23 passengers on board that collided with a truck.

Multiple passengers sustained injuries and were treated on the scene.

"Paramedics from various ambulance services treated approximately 21 patients on the scene with injuries ranging from moderate to critical before they were transported to various Durban hospitals for the medical care they required.

"Unfortunately, two males believed to be in their 30s and 40s had sustained major injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for them, and they were declared dead on the scene," said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
