JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA said the murder of a traffic warden allegedly at the hands of her police officer boyfriend highlights a dire crisis within the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Twenty-two-year-old Chesnay Keppler was murdered in Eldorado Park earlier this week.

The party’s Dereleen James said domestic violence crimes, such as Keppler’s murder, underscored the urgent need for safety and accountability within communities.
"We also call on the minister of police and national commissioner to take immediate and decisive action to address this tragedy and ensure that justice is served.
"We call on IPID [Independent Police Investigative Directorate] to provide regular updates to the family of the deceased and the Eldorado Park community on the progress of the investigation."
James called on investigators to expedite the probe to ensure a successful prosecution of the accused.
"We call also on the relevant ballistics unit in Johannesburg to prioritise the forensic examination of the firearm used in this crime to expedite the investigation.
"We demand a speedy and successful prosecution of Sergeant Buthelezi to ensure that justice is served swiftly and transparently."
