During a closed meeting with Maile, police officers discussed the difficulties they face within the community.
They explained that while residents complained about a lack of resources, some community members vandalised police property.
South African Police Service (SAPS) members added that mob justice complicated efforts to arrest perpetrators.
Maile’s visit comes just days after a police officer in the area shot and killed his partner, who was also in the force.
