The DA said it's written a letter, calling for a meeting with the defence minister to discuss the worsening security climate in Maputo and surrounds.
Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber, has, in the meantime, assured South African nationals arriving at the border from Mozambique of a safe return home.
"The Mozambican government is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every person within its borders, and must take responsibility for the safeguarding of the human rights of every person residing in the country," said DA spokesperson Willie Aucamp.
