Xaba appeals to Umlazi residents to assist police with finding suspect who shot at DWS employees

JOHANNESBURG - EThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba is appealing to Umlazi residents to come forward with any information that can help police find the suspect who shot at two city employees.
Department of Water and Sanitation workers were attending to a reservoir in Umlazi Section F when the company car was shot at.
The area is understood to be dealing with an ongoing issue of water reduction.
One of the plumbers was injured and rushed to hospital.
Xaba condemned acts of criminality during his visit to the injured worker.
"I did not know that now we would be forced to provide security during the accord. I just did not know. I wish we would not reach that stage where now our people are going to be afraid to leave the depot to attend to complaints."
