Western Cape welcomes 172 babies on Christmas Day

CAPE TOWN - One hundred and seventy-two bouncing bundles of joy were born at public health facilities in the Western Cape on Christmas Day.
This included 93 boys and 79 girls.
Three Christmas babies were born between midnight and eleven minutes past twelve.
The first to make an appearance was a baby girl, weighing 2.94kg, at Hermanus Hospital.

Paarl Hospital welcomed the second baby, also a girl, at 10 minutes past midnight, while the third, a baby boy, was delivered at Mowbray Maternity Hospital.
Western Cape Department of health and wellness spokesperson, Dwayne Evans: "We look forward to being a part of every child's development journey. We also extend a sincere thank you to all our staff members, including midwives for their hard work and dedication on this special day."
