JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for extremely hot conditions that could lead to veld fires in Northern Cape and Western Cape on Christmas Day.
In Limpopo and Mpumalanga, thundershowers, with scattered rainfall, are forecast for the rest of the country.
The SAWS has also urged people to immediately report unattended fires.
"Hot and very hot conditions can be expected over the Cape provinces, where there is a possibility of high fire danger conditions,” said forecaster Samkelisiswe Thwala.
“On the Day of Goodwill, which is the 26th of December, isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected for most parts of the country except for the northeastern and southwestern regions of the country."
