Save South Africa civic movement slams Joburg Water for metro's water crisis

JOHANNESBURG - Civic movement, Save South Africa has slammed Johannesburg Water for the metro's water crisis.
Joburg Mayor Dada Morero said the recent water woes were down to a few issues, including regional drought, illegal water connections and the metro's problems with old water infrastructure.

But with taps still dry in parts of the city, Save SA's Lumkile Moshesh said Johannesburg Water has plenty to answer for.
"What seems to be a serious rot and an inadequate response to the Joburg water crisis. What's alleged to be happening at Joburg Water, more especially regarding the awarding of long and short-term contracts to deliver water tankers to this city of Joburg entity, leaves many unanswered questions in our minds, and as we the citizens of Gauteng and Joburg go through this terrible and life-threatening crisis."
