JOHANNESBURG - With only a few days before Christmas, residents of Dan Tloome in Randfontein West of Joburg continue to contend with dry taps.
The community planned to protest on Monday as they have been experiencing water cuts for the past six weeks but have since cancelled the demonstration.
Residents claim that a developer owes money to the Rand West Municipality which is the reason why Rand Water has a limited water supply in the area.
Although the protest action has been cancelled, the residents say they are hoping that water will soon be restored to the area.
"We went to the reservoir that supplies water to the Dan Tloome community they opened the valves but some places haven't received water yet."
