JOHANNESBURG - Thousands of residents at the Dan Tloome housing project in Randfontein are planning to protest on Monday over water woes.
Parts of Gauteng recently endured a three-day water shutdown and while Randfontein was not impacted by the shutdown, their water outage happened around the same time.

Residents have been experiencing water restrictions for the past six weeks. They claim that the West Rand Municipality turns on their tap for only 30 minutes.
Resident Mammello Segale said that their living conditions had become unbearable.
"The situation we are facing is heartbreaking. We are not getting a proper response from officials. There are elderly people here living with disabilities," said Segale.
Residents said they were forced to rely on neighbouring areas for water.
Ward councillor Thabo Rampitsa said the recent maintenance by Rand Water affected the water supply in the area.
