JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane said several areas in Rosslyn will be left without power due to an emergency shutdown that needs to be conducted.
Businesses and residents will be largely impacted by the mandatory cut of supply.
This is due to maintenance work being carried out on electrical components.
City of Tshwane Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said it is in the interest of safety that they implement the shutdown.
"In the interest of safety, the city was compelled to shut down power supply for twelve hours. It is anticipated that the said essential work will be concluded at 00h00. The following areas and business amenities are affected: BMW, BEVA, August/Leaple (MA), Nedbank, ASEA, Rautenbach."
Meanwhile, Sandton’s taps will be dry for most of Sunday as Johannesburg Water closes meters for routine maintenance.
The utility stopped supply on Saturday night to equalise distribution in their water network, with Linbro Park and Marlboro feeds the most affected.
Johannesburg Water’s spokesperson said residents will have to wait a while for the return of water once it's been reinstated.
