JOHANNESBURG - The N3 Toll Concession said officers would be on high alert, with traffic volumes expected to increase on Friday.
The toll concession said since the start of the holiday season, it has recorded heavy congestion on the route.

Most vehicles are recorded heading out from Gauteng towards KwaZulu-Natal.
The busy route has also recorded several road crashes since the beginning of the festive season.
"Highly visible policing will continue to be the order of the day on the N3 toll route," said the concession’s Thania Dhoogra.
"Stop-and-search interventions, vehicle roadworthiness checks, and drug and alcohol screening are being conducted all along the route. Please remember to always share the road responsibly."
