JOHANNESBURG - Joburg residents can breathe a sigh of relief this festive season as City Power announces the suspension of load reduction owing to low demand.
The utility attributed the move to the closure of high energy-consuming businesses and residents travelling out of the city for the holidays.
"This reduction in demand combined with seasonal factors such as the warm weather around this time have contributed to lower energy usage levels, allowing us as City Power to temporarily lift the load reduction that had been implemented to safeguard the electricity infrastructure," said City Power's spokesperson - Issac Mangena.
