City of Ekurhuleni disaster and emergency services remains on high alert after disruptive storms

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Emergency Management Services said it remains on high alert following disruptive storms that tore through the city.
Earlier this week, several homes were damaged, and two people sustained injuries as severe thunderstorms hit certain parts of the area.
Spokesperson William Ntladi said a joint operation led by emergency officials and law enforcement conducted immediate repairs to the affected homes.
Ntladi has also urged residents to be vigilant during this time, with more rain expected.
"The City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services remains on high alert for any eventualities that might happen around the city.
“We would like to send and spread the same safety message to the residents of the City of Ekurhuleni to be on high alert for flooding that is expected around the city."
