JOHANNESBURG - The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) anticipates traffic volumes to increase throughout the weekend.
Since the holiday season began, it said there has been heavy congestion on the routes, with most vehicles heading towards KwaZulu-Natal.
COO Thania Dhoogra said the Road Incident Management System (RIMS)'s members have had to handle several serious road crashes.
She said these include a multiple-vehicle pileup that occurred on Thursday morning.
"Alarmingly, more than 80% of these crashes are likely to have been caused due to human error. Reckless driver behaviour, distraction, and poor decision-making can have long-lasting impacts on many lives. N3TC appeals to all road users to please play their part in ensuring the safety of all road users."
