JOHANNESBURG - Long-distance travel authorities have committed to ensuring seamless and safe travel during the peak holiday season.

The Border Management Authority (BMA) and Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) will brief the media on these plans on Thursday morning.

The agencies said the briefing will address key operational updates and collaborative efforts between the BMA and ACSA.

Both the BMA and ACSA have faced challenges this festive season, ranging from refuelling issues at airports to border closures due to unrest in Mozambique.

"The briefing will also provide insight into measures being implemented to enhance the efficiency and security of South African ports of entry, particularly airports, during this critical period," said the BMA’s Mmemme Mogotsi.
