CAPE TOWN - A community activist said the murders of a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy in Lavender Hill could be a result of gang retaliation.
The teenagers were killed in a drive-by shooting in Hilary Drive this week.
While police are still investigating the incident, anti-crime activist, Gavin Walbrugh, said there had been a flare-up of gang violence in the area recently.
"So yesterday morning, there was a shooting, and then also the night before there was a shooting, but in an area adjacent to Lavender Hill. So, we're not sure now if this is retaliation."
