CAPE TOWN - January is just two weeks away and motorists may be in for higher petrol prices.
The Automobile Association (AA) has revealed its predicted fuel price adjustments for the month.
AA spokesperson, Eleanor Mavimbela, said petrol could cost between 3 and 11 cents a litre more, while diesel could drop by 3 cents a litre.
"Current unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund shows a mix of increases and decreases in fuel prices for January."
Mavimbela said the price of illuminating paraffin was expected to drop by about 14 cents a litre.
"These expected reductions are attributed to lower international product prices observed from the end of the previous month although the Rand has not been performing well against the US Dollar for most of the review period, the data indicates the change in international product prices significantly influenced these forecasted reductions."
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy will release the official fuel price adjustments later in December.
